" I was born in Pasadena, TX and moved to Kerrville when I was six years old with my family. I am one of 4 kids. My parents are Dr. Dan and Rhea Boone, who practiced medicine in town until retirement. My parents got called to the mission field when I was in 5th grade and we moved to Nigeria, Africa for 4 years. When our tenure was over, we moved back to Kerrville and I graduated from Tivy High School in 2004. After high school, I attended college at Dallas Baptist University and graduated in 2008. I met my wife at DBU and have been married since 2009. We moved back to Kerrville for work in 2010 and we have been here ever since. My wife, Brittany, enjoys volunteering on the PTO, for Teacher Appreciation at Hal Peterson Middle School, and is the VP of Fundraising for Tally Elementary. We are blessed to have 4 boys; Brayden (8th), Braxton (6th), Bradley (4th), and Beckett (Pre-K). All of which will be in all 3 levels of KISD next year and all are involved in many extracurricular activities and club sports."
"Servant leadership was one of the greatest things I learned while attending Dallas Baptist University. I currently serve as the COO for Kerrville Medical Services, handling payroll and budgets, intra business personnel policies and implementation, and the finance controller. I also own a medical billing and revenue cycle management company. We attend Trinity Baptist Church, and have been there for 15 years. I serve as a Deacon in our church and have served on numerous committees, most recently a 3-year tenure as President of the Finance Committee, and a Circles youth teaching leader. Inside the district I have been a part of the ’23-’24 KISD Leadership Cohort, the 1925 KISD Budget Committee, volunteered at Outdoor Ed for HPMS, volunteered at Field Day for Tally, and many others. When not working, I love to coach youth sports and have for many years, through the YMCA and AYSO organizations.
As a board member, I would love the opportunity to be more involved with the administration of our district to look for innovative ways to better serve the children in our district. I know there is a growing number of kids with special needs or learning challenges. What can the board do to help out in those areas, whether it be staff guidance or helping with funding options. KISD is striving to be able to improve upon and offer more CTE programs in their schools. As with every new program, costs accrue and with the current budget constraints at the state level, KISD will start to feel the crunch as they look to the future. I know the current board, with the help of the administration, are looking for ways to stretch our dollars while still providing the programs offered that make KISD great! Also, as someone who has 4 children in the district and a wife who volunteers in the district, I think it allows me to bring a different insight to the board. Understanding what is happening around the different campuses and hearing what the students think about the district is a huge advantage when it comes to making policies that affect them. "
